Further information about PUMA

PUMA aims at the construction of a mobile Penning Malberg trap, in order to transport anitprotons from the ELENA storage ring at CERN to the ISOLDE facility, where they are brought to collision with exotic nuclei.

The accelerator physics group works on the design of such traps, as well as on the plasma dynamics and plasma stability of the trapped charged particles.
